Rendezvous Overview

So I have finally returned from my trip to London and Paris! I truely love London but it was unfortunate that the bombings occured when I was there. Even though it was scary and deplorable, it was quite exciting at the same time. The same day I visited many well known momuments and parks, despite the rain and tragedies. I was so amazed on how people were genuinely nice. Even the police officers took their time to explain things in somewhat of a detailed manner during all the madness, with people worried and sirens screaming for about four hours STRAIGHT (so damn relaxing!)

I couldn't believe the amount of people walking home that day. I was standing across a street on my way back to the hotel and there were hundreds of people walking to the directions of their homes. It was so crowded you couldn't see the pavement...Anyways, after having a few heart attacks after watching the news I fell asleep quickly (the advantage of being jetlagged) and tried to go through the next day normally. We sat on a double decker bus a couple of times and it was deserted compared to how full it was before the attacks. Suprisingly there were A LOT of people shopping and trying to move on with their lives, even though you could sense a bit of unease within everyone, including myself. (In America we would already be urged to buy our one month supply of food and water or to board up or doors and windows...stupid overexaggerated news)

After three days in good ol' London I went to Paris by train. It was less planned out compared to how my brother made a strict schedule last time I went so we could see all the important places, coughrasputincough. I can't complain about the food or the shopping. And if you have the perception that French people are mean, most of them aren't. If you truely want to know how people are, go AWAY from the touristic areas because those are the locations that are swarmed with tourists and craziness. One woman was so nice she walked us to one of the subway exits we had trouble finding even though it was completely out of her way. So ya, French attitude isn't all that bad:)

Eight days later I find myself typing on my rather loud and bouncy keyboard once again. I missed home and coming back was bittersweet. I was excited to come back and to see my friends but there was a sense of emptiness, without Freddie greeting us like he usually would after a long trip from home.

The end.
